Deaf In The Central African Republic
This is a film that my wife and I made while in the Central African Republic for three months in the summer of 2008. The situation for everyone there is, without a doubt, terrible, but it is certainly worse if you are deaf.
Digital Asset Management System
I’ve made WordPress into a cheapo digital asset management system — granted, it kind of already is one, but . . . this project has more or less made it formal. The variety of plugins needed include one for search, one for tagging and one to make it so the assets can be easily played without having to download them outside of the browser.
The principle problems are storage space, quality of search, hardware and uploading — granted you need the first two no matter what “system” you use, but in order to use a DAMS based on WordPress, you need some kind of hosting, be it on your own machine or remotely . . .
I’ve made both the back-end and front-end parts, but I can’t say that I love exactly everything about it. I suspect more iterations will be in the works. Contact me if you’re interested in finding out how I did it (or have better ideas about how to make it happen).
Endeavor Mexico: Business Accelerator
A group of Columbia classmates and I went down to Mexico, met with business leaders, university professors, government officials and media professionals to discuss how entrepreneurship was tied to overall economic development and the betterment of countries.
We took about 1,000 minutes of video and cut it down to a short four minute overview of how one business accelerator, Endeavor Mexico, is changing the landscape for entrepreneurs in Mexico.
Strange Video Project
My wife has a great idea for a documentary that easily be about 10 minutes in length.
For better or for worse, she’s one of the only people I know who could pull it off; it definitely would require an earnest touch that I’d have trouble with.
